Origin Of Winches

Winches are truly used in cars, starting from the Jeep in World War II. After the United States joined the war, Jeep cars often got stuck in sandbars or shell craters on the open desert battlefield in North Africa. In addition, Jeep's bulky body made rescue methods very difficult! Therefore, the US military began to apply winches to cars for self rescue, and the original car winches were tied with a steel wire rope in front of the car body, before using motors to have true self rescue functions! After the end of World War II, the winch was highly sought after by off-road enthusiasts and was also one of the essential tools for off-road vehicle modification!
